About merchconvo

merchconvo is a commerce conversation platform for merchants in Lebanon and across MENA. Customers message a shop on WhatsApp; the shop answers, sells, and gets paid — without anyone re-typing an order into a second system.

Why it exists

In this region WhatsApp isn't a support channel bolted onto a storefront. It isthe storefront. Orders arrive as voice notes and photos, prices get negotiated in the thread, and the catalogue lives in someone's head. The tools built for email-first Western retail assume none of that.

So merchconvo is built the other way round: an inbox that understands a 24-hour messaging window, an AI agent that knows the actual catalogue rather than guessing, and an order flow that handles cash on delivery as a first-class payment method instead of an afterthought.

How we make money

A subscription for the platform, and usage-based wallet credit for AI replies and messages. We publish both on the pricing page. WhatsApp message fees are passed through at Meta's own published rate with no markup — we earn on the software, not on the toll.

Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Card details never reach our servers.

Who runs it

merchconvo is an independent project rather than a company with a floor of account managers. One person builds it, answers the support email, and ships the fixes. That's worth knowing before you rely on it — and it's why the roadmap moves fast and why you get a straight answer instead of a ticket number.
